Dr. Mercedes R. Bigornia

08/10/2008 15:27. Recitation of the rosary followed by a funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, in St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church (Madeleine Parish) for Dr. Mercedes R. Bigornia, who died Oct. 4 at age 87. Mercedes Reyes was born July 5, 1921, in Tayabas, the Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 and moved to Portland in 1969. She was a retired physician. She married Paul A. Bigornia; he died in 1970.

Survivors include her son, Paul A.; daughter, Pauline Bigornia Weiss; and sisters, Clemencia de la Torre and Nancy Muileman.
