Is this Merc's new E-Class? 10/10/2008 19:33. An awkward name indeed but the Mercedes-Benz Concept Fascination,
shown for the first time at the 2008 Paris auto show, could be a
look at what's in store from Stuttgart. Half-coupé and half-station wagon, the Concept Fascination is a 21st-century take on what used to be known as a shooting brake and was rumoured by industry insiders in Paris to be the first step towards a new E-Class coupé to be shown at the March 2009 Geneva auto show. The Concept Fascination is based the C-Class platform and will probably end up replacing the CLK despite its E-Class badges and front end . The distinctive front section retains the E-Class' twin-headlight face, but gives a first look at Mercedes' new design language, with reshaped headlights and fashionable LED technology.
