Driving enthusiasts will soon set the wheels in spin on a new chapter of British motoring history when they get behind the wheel of the latest offering from MG.

The new MG TF LE500 receives a test-drive by members of the press today, with the company touting the new model as "a car that delivers nothing short of undiluted delight".

The two-seater roadster will cost £16,399 and will be the first launch since MG resumed manufacturing at the Longbridge plant in Birmingham on 1 August.

Nanjing Automobile Corporation, which purchased MG for more than £50m in May, created up to 200 positions to assemble new models.
