03/12/2008 02:10. WASHINGTON — The Environmental Protection Agency has certified two engines for sale in the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, indicating the car will be offered initially only in Ralliart and GTS variants.

The Lancer Sportback garners EPA city/highway ratings of 17/25 mpg for the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and six-speed TC-SST transmission — a combination that is specific to the Ralliart.
