The president and chief operating officer of Birmingham-based Hibbett Sports Inc. has left the company after seven months on the job.

The sporting goods retailer said Wednesday that the company and Nissan Joseph, hired in January, agreed to part ways due to “philosophical differences,” said a news release.

Hibbett (Nasdaq: HIBB) plans to search for his replace immediately.
