Switzerland: GM Europe announces Opel Corsa and Astra ecoFLEX 29/08/2008 01:31. Zurich-based GM Europe has announced production versions of the
former low-emissions Corsa and Astra ecoFLEX prototypes for Opel
and Vauxhall. Just under twelve months since their debuts at the Frankfurt IAA, 'ecoFLEX' versions of General Motors Europe's Opel Corsa and Astra have been announced in production form. GME calls the cars 'pro-environmental' model variants. Average CO2 emissions are stated as 109g/km (1.2-litre turbodiesel Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX) and 119g/km (Astra 1.7 CDTI ecoFLEX - badging is accurate for this model). As for average fuel consumption, the cars are as admirable - 4.1 and 4.5 litres per 100km respectively are quoted by GME.
