13/08/2008 02:26. In the face of rising fuel prices and continued concerns about the environment, General Motors’ Saab division is slated for a bit of downsizing in the coming years. Although a smaller Saab 9-3 is likely still two or three years away, the new way of thinking at the Swedish brand should first show up in the next 9-5.

The next-generation Saab 9-5 will make its first appearance at March’s Geneva Motors Show, complete with a smaller, more fuel-efficient engine underhood – a 1.6L turbocharged unit.
