15/09/2008 21:09. One of the first things to note about the new Skoda Superb - though
perhaps not the most important - is that it doesn't cost very much.
You can have the entry-level model, with its remarkably powerful
1.4-litre super/turbocharged TSI petrol engine, for just
£15,490, and although the car at the opposite end of the range
costs a rather more serious £26,675, it comes with a 260bhp
3.6-litre V6 engine, a DSG gearbox and four-wheel drive.
Already this is looking like a very favourable bang/buck ratio, but
there's more. Every model has a truly outstanding amount of space
in the rear, to the extent that other manufacturers have to make
special long-wheelbase versions of their cars to match it. The old
Superb - an appealing device, though rather less visually
distinctive than the new one - was... //
