07/11/2008 11:58. CHERRY HILL, New Jersey — Subaru of America has launched a dealership contest in the western United States that is a video-game version of Battle of the Bands. The winning competitor in a contest using the game Rock Band 2 will get a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX valued at $25,690.

"Show off your stage-shredding chops," says the contest information, "like the WRX tears up the rally course." Contestants must be 21 or older and register online .

The contest involves playing in a virtual band with up to four participants using Harmonix Music Systems' Rock Band 2 game with parts for virtual guitar, bass and drums. Contestants are scored individually and as a group.
