Road Test: Toyota Avensis

29/11/2008 00:42. TOYOTA'S latest version of the Avensis was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September and goes on sale here in January.

It will be the third generation of the family model to emerge from the factory at Burnaston in Derbyshire, which is one of three successful UK factories for Japanese giants, toget her with Honda at Swindon and Nissan at Sunderland.

The new car has Toyota's latest corporate identity which the company hopes will enable it to steal sales from rivals such as the Ford Mondeo, the forthcoming Vauxhall Insignia and Volkswagen Passat.

Prices should start at about £15,500 and although it is not particularly striking to look at, it is apparently very family friendly and will sell well for Toyota's excellent lasting qualities.
