14/08/2008 05:32. Volkswagen will launch the sixth generation of the Golf at the Paris Motor Show in October with the car maker revealing more details of the vehicle with the entry model to sell in Germany for 16,500 euros ($A28,284).

Pictures released by Volkswagen show a car with design features of the new Scirocco such as the open lower front grille with daylight running lights.

The flanks have a rising "character line" that emphasise the rear shoulder on which the C-pillar rests.

With the new model costs 200 euros ($A342.85) more than its predecessor, the Golf VI comes with a range of new assistance systems including automatic distance control, park assist, adaptive chassis and a new ESP (Electronic Stability Programme).
