Husband and wife Peugeot team in record success 20/06/2008 21:58. The efficient Peugeot 308 HDi 110bhp turbo diesel has secured its
place in the 2009 Guinness Book of Records. Husband and wife, John and Helen Taylor, set two new World Records in their standard 308 hatchback on a 25-day, 14,580km journey around the coast of Australia, when they battled rain, storms and even a cyclone to reach record status. During the double-record breaking journey, they recorded an unprecedented 1,919km on just 60 litres of diesel fuel and an astounding average fuel consumption of 3.13 litres/100km. The Peugeot 308 HDi 110 hatchback, equipped with its Michelin energy-saving tyres, now holds the World Record for both the highest average fuel consumption on a journey, a record previously held by a Peugeot 307 hatchback set in 2004 of 3.49 litres/100km, and the record... // Northside People |
