07/09/2008 08:01. Formula Renault 3.5: Mixed Results For Carlin At Le Mans

Carlin’s World Series team was back in racing action today, at the Le Mans round of the World Series by Renault 3.5 championship. Mikhail Aleshin continued a strong weekend so far to come home in sixth place, while team mate Robert Wickens saw his race compromised by a drive-through penalty.

A new qualifying format for 2008 sees the World Series drivers split into two groups, with the quickest six drivers in each group making it through to the Super Pole session. With 12 drivers vying for pole in the Super Pole session, the top eight start race one with their positions reversed, and start race two in the positions in which they qualified.
