28/09/2008 11:31. Formula Renault 3.5: Wickens Finishes Third In Estoril

Robert Wickens finished third in this afternoon’s World Series by Renault race at the Circuito do Estoril, having started the race from fifth on the grid. The Red Bull racer was third for the first half of the race, but lost out to Alvaro Barba to cross the line in fourth place. However, second placed driver Marcos Martinez was later handed a 25 second penalty, elevating Wickens to the final podium position. Team mate Mikhail Aleshin made amends for a difficult qualifying session to finish ninth.

As qualifying began, the World Series drivers were split into two groups, with the quickest six drivers in each group making it through to the Super Pole session. Both Carlin drivers were out in the first group on Saturday morning.... // PaddockTalk
