Renault Laguna Sport Tourer 2.0T Initiale 01/07/2008 03:12. I tested the range-topping 2.0-litre turbo Initiale automatic
model, which tips the scales at £22,910. The unfortunately
named F4RT petrol engine (wouldn't you just love that as a number
plate?) develops 170 horsepower, which is good for a top speed of
133 mph. The so-called 'dual-entry' turbo helps generate a peak
torque of 270 Nm at 3250 rpm. The broad torque curve provides
plenty of mid-range punch and a 0-62 time of 9.2 seconds. The engine is coupled to a six-speed 'proactive' transmission, which enables a choice of full auto' or tap 'n' go sequential changing. A long top gear allows the Laguna to cruise at motorway speeds with a lowly 2500 rpm on the clock, which is what you want for relaxed, inter-city cruising. Very high standards of build quality coupled with low noise... // New Car Net |
