While still eyeing fourth place in the Constructors' Championship, Renault have made it clear that their focus has already shifted to their 2009 car.

The Anglo-French constructor are currently five points behind fourth-placed Toyota in the standings with five races remaining this season.

Nevertheless, with Renault outperforming their closest rivals in Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix - Fernando Alonso finishing fourth at Spa-Francorchamps - technical director Bob Bell says he is confident they can overtake the Japanese manufacturer.

"McLaren and Ferrari are clearly in front of us and so, if they have a good day, there are not many points left to go around," Bell said.... // SkySports

Renault has called on Nelson Piquet Jr to put his disappointing Spa performance behind him and raise his game at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

After shaking off a lacklustre start to his rookie campaign with three mid-season points finishes, Piquet has struggled in the past two races and crashed out of last Sunday’s Belgian GP.

Q. Fernando, Spa lived up to its reputation and gave us an unpredictable race, largely due to the changeable weather...

FA: Yes, it was a very eventful race! For me, everything went smoothly until the final couple of laps. At the start of the race, the track was still quite damp in places, but I made a good start and quickly took fourth position, where I remained until the end of the race, in spite of the rain shower. We scored five points, which is a good result in terms of the championship and we were pleased to see that we were on the pace and the third strongest team in Spa.

Q. We're now looking forward to the Italian Grand Prix in Monza - another legendary and unusual circuit. Is it a track that you like?

FA: It's an outstanding, fast circuit and drivers always like to go fast!... // autosport.com

Former world champion Fernando Alonso reckons his Renault team can set their sights on overhauling Toyota for fourth place in the constructors' championship in the wake of their strong performance in the Belgian Grand Prix.

Alonso finished fourth at Spa-Francorchamps last weekend as Toyota had a troubled time and, with high hopes the R28 can now deliver on the promising form it has shown in recent races, the team are more bullish about what they can deliver.

"Our objective is clearly to finish in fourth place in the constructors' championship and I'm determined to do all I can to help the team do that," said Alonso.
