Hyundai reports May sales record

Maruti's volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 14.5%, while in A3 segment the volume growth was 18.7% over its sales in May 2007.

Rivals Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) also reported a 47.27% jump in domestic passenger car sales at 24,510 units during May, against 16,643 units in the corresponding month of 2007.

The company's cumulative sales (including exports) during May were up 51.08% at 40,261 units, compared to 26,648 units in the same month a year ago, HMIL said in a statement.

Its exports for the month rose to 15,751 units, compared to 10,005 units during the same month previous year.
