G8 Hokkaido summit hosts unveiling of Subaru plug-in hybrid 28/06/2008 13:14. Subaru has revealed a new electric concept vehicle at the G8
Hokkaido Toyako Summit in Japan, and announced plans to build a
limited run of five cars to undergo a new trial. The new prototype,
called the Plug-in Stella Concept, combines the electric powertrain
from the R1e concept electric vehicle with the compact Stella
platform (pictured). The carmaker now plans to use the Plug-in Stella Concept in the development and test-marketing of the next generation of electric vehicles in Japan. The vehicle was developed jointly by Subaru and utility company Tokyo Electric Power. Stella platform holds many advantages Despite its diminutive size, the concept vehicle can seat four adults and reach a top speed of 80km/h. It weighs in at just 1,060kg and can drive up to 80km on a single charge.... // CarCental |
