All-time monthly sales record for all-new 2009 Forester

MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 2 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today

that it set a new record for June results with sales of its lineup

Symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive vehicles reaching 1,822

34.9 percent over last June. It was the seventh consecutive record

sales growth for SCI.
It was also the second consecutive all-time best month for

the launch of the all-new, third-generation model driving sales to

high 781 units - 152.8 percent more than were purchased in June of

39 units more than the record set just one month ago. Impreza sales

continued to be strong, with monthly retails of 718 units up 29.4

Subaru of America Inc. said Tuesday its June sales increased thanks to a huge boost from its top-selling Forester model.

Sales rose 5.3 percent to 18,007 from 17,108 in June last year. The results include sales of both foreign and domestic models.

The results got a huge boost from Subaru's Forester crossover sport utility vehicle, which saw sales surge 41 percent to 5,830. Sales of its Legacy sedan rose 18.6 percent to 2,339.
