went to great lengths to assure the assembled masses that it is a
full-sized CUV (crossover utility vehicle) and not an SUV. The
distinction is important. The latter is a dying breed. The CUV, on
the other hand, falls into a segment of the market that is showing
growth, which bodes well for the Flex's timing. When it arrives in
showrooms at the end of this month, it will be offered in SEL
($34,999) and Limited ($40,999) editions with either front-or
all-wheel drive ($2,000). Stylistically, the Flex commands significant road presence, as
nothing looks remotely like it. Squint and some say shades of the
Mini Clubman shine through, although the size differential rules it
