Tendulkar misses record as India save first Test

14/10/2008 07:12. Bangalore:The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia ended in a draw in Bangalore. Though the series is held 0-0, Australia have some advantage going into the second Test at Mohali.

While Aussie batsmen chipped in with runs at crucial moments, their bowlers did not let India's famed batting line-up score big. They also had two centuries from their key batsmen, Ricky Ponting and Mike Hussey.

Indian bowlers, except Kumble, were impressive throughout the match. Skipper Kumble, who was playing his 'last Test in Bangalore' was not at his best in terms of form and fitness. Fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma, however, bowled well in tandem on a batting track.

India were set a victory target of 299 runs in 83 overs but finished with 177-4 before bad light... // SahilOnline
