Toyota Hikes Pricing on 2009 RAV4

TORRANCE, California — Toyota on Tuesday said its mildly freshened 2009 RAV4 will increase in price by an average of about $224 across the lineup when it arrives in showrooms in September. The 2009 RAV4 will range in price from $22,245 for the base front-wheel-drive model to $28,555 for the RAV4 Limited with four-wheel drive and a V6 engine. Prices include a $745 destination charge.

For 2009, the RAV4 gets a redesigned 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 172 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. The outgoing 2008 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine produces 166 hp at 6,000 rpm and 165 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm.
