WISCASSET — When Doug White bought Wiscasset Raceway in 2007 from Dave and Sandra St. Clair, he mostly focused on how to improve the track and make drivers want to test themselves around the 3⁄8 oval.

One year later, the former driver, and the Wiscasset community, are ready to host a first-time event that has racers from throughout Maine, New England, the U.S. and Canada scheduled to compete.

The Toyota Tundra 250 is slated for Sunday with qualifying scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and run throughout the day with the main event pegged for a 7 p.m. start.

Sunday's Pro Stocks' main event will be filled by a series of five, 20-lap qualifying heats, three 15-lap consolation races, and a 50-lap "last-chance" race. The... // Brunswick Times Record
