Germany: Volkswagen reveals new Golf ahead of Paris motor show 06/08/2008 09:16. A rebodied version of the five-year old Volkswagen Golf will have
its world premiere at the Paris motor show on 2 October. The new, sixth generation Volkswagen Golf (codename: VW350) has been announced by its maker, with images of high-spec three- and five-door bodystyles and an equivalent interior released. The PQ35 architecture as used by the current (VW355) model will be rebranded as 'MQB'. Whilst by no means official, sources claim a cabriolet is also on the way, which will be built in-house, rather than by Karmann, the brand's traditional partner, which is getting out of the contract assembly business. With the introduction of new Europe-wide emissions legislation just over a year away, all engines in the new Golf range will be Euro 5-compliant from launch.
