18/06/2008 11:33. WOLFSBURG, Germany — Volkswagen has announced that its all-new Scirocco will go on sale in late August in Germany and the U.K., priced starting just over $40,000 for the base 120-horsepower 1.4-liter four-cylinder variant.

VW said it will roll out the car through the rest of Europe later in the fall and will begin exports to Japan in May 2009, but still has no plans to market the Scirocco in North America.
