27/06/2008 19:29. This is Volkswagen's new Scirocco which goes on sale from September 1.

The original Scirocco was launched 34 years ago and 77,460 of them were sold across 19 years and two generations.

Prices for the new car have been announced and start at £20,940 for the GT 2.0-litre TSI. This is the only engine available at launch and boasts a healthy 200ps (around 198bhp in English money). The Scirocco GT will do 146mph and 0-62mph in 7.2sec.
