29/08/2008 19:14. Station wagons have never really appealed to me, but at 28 and thinking about starting a family, my recent test drive of the 2008 Volvo V70 convinced me of their usefulness even if the look still hasn't quite grown on me.

That's not to say the V70 is unattractive. Quite the opposite, in fact. It has sleek, aerodynamic lines that fit with other Volvo models, and from the front, you would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the V70 and some other Volvo vehicles.

Only once you look at the V70's profile can you see the difference. However, unlike some wagons, this is not a bad thing in the V70's case. The swooping line that starts at the headlight carries through to the taillights, which are stacked vertically up the sides of the cargo door.
