New wagon design boasts more power, refinement 29/06/2008 08:00. Volvo has employed a completely new vehicle architecture for the
2008 V70, which now shares major components and systems with the
flagship S80 and the equally new XC70. This constitutes a
significant change from the previous V70, which was related to the
smaller Volvo S60. The platform change enabled Volvo engineers to
add new levels of power and refinement. In Volvo-speak, S is for
sedan and V is for wagon - as in station wagon. That's right, Volvo
has no qualms whatsoever in calling a wagon a wagon. Visually, the new V70 takes on a more dynamic persona, with a more aerodynamic, yet bolder athletic exterior design theme.
